AfterRADA is a company of artists who met whilst training at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, they share a passion for creating unique pieces of art in various form. Anonymity is accepted and welcome.
NJ established AfterRADA during the Covid Pandemic, she studied Stage Management and Technical Theatre, Scenic Design and Prop Making. RADA offered the opportunity to work with leading Directors, Designers and Artists in addition to training with student Artists who were to become, future West End & Broadway Designers and Artists.
After graduating in 2002 NJ worked as a Stage Manager, predominantly on West End Musicals including Cats, Chicago The Musical and Spamalot before moving into Pre-Production and Casting. She worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group on Productions such as Love Never Dies, Sweet Charity, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and many other large Productions and Events. NJ has also worked on various TV productions including Red Cap and Spooks for the BBC, and a memorable documentary with Sir Richard Attenborough.
As a theatre student at RADA, days were busy and long, so once home, NJ would relax by painting on her one and only canvas (a huge canvas kindly donated from the RADA Art dept). This was her late night ritual and she would often be joined by fellow students who were invited to paint until their hearts were content. This canvas has been painted over many times for 20 years, and, after three children, it’s still going strong. This canvas was the inspiration for all current and future art projects.
